Rehoboam at Shechem forsakes the counsel of the old men — my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions; what portion have we in David? to your tents, O Israel; Jeroboam's calves of gold in Beth-el and Dan; the man of God out of Judah crying against the altar; the old prophet's lie, and the lion in the way.
